Fallout 1x08 (2024) * FULL LENGTH REACTION

So it begins....

I just love how this story is structured. The information dump and reveals in this episode were fun to see.

I'm honestly just confused how Moldaver is still alive after 200 years. She must have some kind of secret tech or something.

I am SO EXCITED for season 2!!! It cannot come soon enough ๐Ÿคฉ

I would love to know your thoughts on the first season of Fallout!! If you have a favourite character, what you're looking forward to, if you have a favourite moment, etc ๐Ÿคฉ

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the movie.  You can set picture in picture by right clicking twice on the video and selecting "Picture in picture". The right clicking twice is a bit tricky, because you have to right click, then move your cursor so it's not on the menu, then right click again

Thank you so much everyone for your support, you are the best!!

Maximus was my least favourite character throughout the season, but at the end, I'm really looking forward to what he'll do next season! I would like the Brotherhood to be a big focus at some point and maybe we can see it change (or it will take over everything lol). Moldaver's survival may remain a mystery. If it does, that's ok, I'm fine with possible plot holes in this series haha

I really liked this season. My favorite parts were definitely Lucy and Cooper, but I gotta admit I really liked Maximus in this last episode and the questions Moldaver asked him. The Brotherhood as it is now is stronger than it's ever been I feel, and it seems to be going down a bad path in search of more and more power, and maybe through Maximus things might change, maybe some kind of split within the Brotherhood perhaps. Loved seeing New Vegas at the end and I'm hoping we get to see more locations from that game in Season 2. Also I hope we see more about the New California Republic. While the leadership could have been destroyed in Shady Sands, there's also alot of them spread around several states between California and Nevada and around the West Coast. My theory about Moldaver is that maybe she used the same sort of technology that Bud's Buds used and cryogenically froze herself. Either that or she's some kind of vampire or maybe a mutant or something lol

The dialogue in every episode is so important because so often, a line is said but we see that the opposite is true (especially when it's something positive haha). It's so interesting to see both Lucy and Maximus be raised a certain way, and now they are finally learning the truth about the world, but in different ways. It's so great to see Maximus smile and be happy since it doesn't seem like he really knows much about that aspect of life. Lucy is great for him. Lucy following her golden rule will be fun to see next season. But since she'll be travelling with the Ghoul, there will be lots of side quests to do too ๐Ÿคฃ Yes, Norm and Chet need to reunite somehow!! I'm so invested and curious about them, they are just fantastic. It'll be interesting and funny and sad to see Chet in Vault 32 next season. Especially since he's with Stephanie ๐Ÿ˜จ I would love it if Maximus manages to take down the brotherhood, or lead it (and change it for the better). I'm rooting for him, that's for sure!! Thanks for your comments, I've enjoyed reading them and I love seeing your passion for series like this and Arcane!!! ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿคฉ

They're definitely not the evil people they were made out to be in episode 1, that's for sure! Moldaver was revered by many, I'm curious to see how her death will affect surface dwellers next season.

Moldavers been part of several faction I think but what you called raiders are the remains of New California Republic, used to be fallouts largest faction, a whole country which has old world values. Propably taking its last breath because Shady Sands was its capital. This was the biggest bummer because always liked NCR.

"Fallout" is such a unique show, I really loved season 1...๐Ÿ˜Š The ghoul looking at Lucy and saying "It's her!" is the ghoul who thanked her for freeing him in episode 4. With him we learn another bit about the New California Republic. He fled to them because there he wasn't discriminiated or chased away. Remember what Ma June in Filly said to the ghoul in episode 2? "Your kind ain't welcome here." The NCR seems way more welcoming and open minded than the other factions we met so far, maybe with the exception of the people in Vault 4. My heart broke for Lucy when she learned the truth about her parents. Her words from the last episode echoed immediately through my mind - "If my father found out that I killed an entire community just to save him, it would break his heart." I rarely hated a fictional character so much as I hated Hank MacLean in that moment. ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ’” From several looks, gestures and words it is fair to assume that Rose MacLean fell in love with Lee Moldaver and that this is the main reason why she wouldn't want to return to the vault with her husband (besides all his lies and secrets) and that's the reason why he destroyed Shady Sands - not only to destroy competition, but to have his petty revenge on his wife that dared to leave him and take his children away. Begs the question, who actually bombed Shady Sands? Hank himself had no access to bombs. He must have "ordered" the strike from one of the control vaults we didn't see yet. And I wonder when Maximus asks himself why there were knights of brotherhood present immediately after the bombing? Where they there to rescue survivors or more likely because they where hired to eliminiate possible survivors? ๐Ÿ˜ฑ Maximus was trained from a very young age to obey orders and he is only slowly freeing himself of that way of thinking. Of course he would do what someone wants if this person acts confident enough. Besides all Lucy was talking about was saving her dad so when he found them he thought he would do exactly what Lucy wanted. Lucy herself was way too shocked to do or say anything. God, Kyle MacLachlan was so good as Lucys father. His facial expressions were so intense, you could see every second what was going on in his head. It really paid off to cast such a gifted and experienced actor for this rather small but very important part. ๐Ÿคฉ My favorite character by far is Lucy. She was so well written and played you just can't NOT like her. ๐Ÿ˜ I was so happy that the ghoul intervened when Lucy aimed at her father. Maybe she would have gone through with it, but it probably would have broken her even more in the long term than she already is. I think he helped her saving the best part of herself by chasing Hank away to find the people behind him, the "good Vaults" where he sumises to find his wife and/or daughter. Maybe one day Lucy will avenge her mother, but not in this emotional turmoil and not after having had time to think it through. I for myself am sure her revenge will not be killing her dad, rather bringing him to a kind of justice in the way the republic would have done. She would only kill him if he forces her to do it in some way. My favorite moment is Lucy-related too, it was her defining moment of this season. Episode 4, her last line when she gives the vials to the ghoul: "I may end up LOOKING like you - but I will never BE like you." and of course "Golden Rule, motherfucker." ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’– My favorite duo for sure are Norm and Chet. I want to see them reunited in some way in the future. ๐Ÿ˜Š Overall, I really liked the social commentary in this story very much. There is put a lot in there that can easily be translated to the real world. I loved how they put it into the subtext of what is on the surface a colorful, quirky, funny and gory fantasy story. Not many mainstream showrunners dare to do that anymore. Despite talking about it, the bombs were most likely not dropped by Vault-Tec or at least not with the knowledge of Barb, otherwise she would have made shure that at least her daughter would have been in or near a vault when they fell. ๐Ÿค” Moldaver was a brilliant scientist and she was rich. I guess she had access to a cryo pod one way or another. They seemed to be popular before the apocalypse (see the ad board for "Cryo Chambers" in New Vegas). I think season 2 will center around Cooper, Lucy and Hank in New Vegas, trying to find Barb, Janey and the Big Boss. Maximus will rise in the ranks of the Brotherhood and try to get into a position where he can use the knights to find Lucy or maybe he even tries to lead the knights in a way Lucy would like, the way he always thought what a knight should be like. In the end I think all the vault dwellers of 32 and 33 will be forced to leave their vaults and start a new life on the surface to survive and build a new civilisation (this time for real, not a mock-up one like in the vaults). Thaddeus will go full ghoul-mode and team up with Cooper. They probably won't do it, but I would love to see Lucy and Maximus meet again after a bigger time jump. Lucy (without the ghoul now) leads her own faction and Maximus leads the knights of the brotherhood. They unite at some point to fight the big boss.๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜Š Thank you for watching this great show with us. I can't wait to see season 2 either...๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ
