Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith *REWATCH*

Again? Yes!  This is my post Clone Wars viewing.

I didn't expect to see things very differently, and seeing it live action was jarring at first.  going from 7 seasons of Clone Wars characterization to Episode 3 was very interesting.

Also, the fact that clones are such minor side characters and that they were so well developed in the Clone Wars series is such a treat!  They are so not important in this movie, but hot damn do you get to care for them in the series.

Having seen this, I want more animated series to expand and develop characters more.   I'm so excited for the Bad Batch and seeing what happens after this main event.

I did feel even more anger towards Palpatine, which surprises me.  I thought I despised him enough already, but clearly not 🤣

I still really, REALLY love the music in Star Wars, it's a playlist that I listen to often 😍

Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith *REWATCH*

It really is so sad. For all that I love Obi-Wan, he has a LOT of faults. Padme also has a tragic story, and imagine how horrible it would feel to look back and realize how you were manipulated by Palpatine all along too. I like that the Kenobi series shows Obi-Wan really down and defeated. It's understandable after his emotional heartbreak with Anakin at the end of episode 3. I love how you called it a Scooby Doo reveal 🤣

Obviously we know Anakin's story is tragic with padme, palpatine's manipulation, etc. but knowing how Padme was the only one that said there was good in him, and Luke was the only one to try, it's even more tragic that Obi gives up on him. Anakin is all "i'm evil" and obi is like "that sucks but ok you are evil". The Clone Wars just makes this movie hit different, but the part that always hits hardest is "you were my brother Anakin" and the range of emotions Obi goes through there. He lashes out in anger at him, collects himself and then is sad and disappointed because of what they had, then just accepting of his fate to walk away. Especially after watching clone wars, the "gotcha" attitude Yoda has with Palpatine referring to him as Sidious is just so funny. We saw so many times how obvious it was in the show, at that point in the movie he'd already gone through all this stuff with Anakin and Mace after Anakin told Mace, then Yoda shows up later with this Scooby Doo reveal.

I'm glad I watched episode 3 first. I think I would have not liked Anakin in episode 3 after having seen him in Clone Wars, since he seems so mature in Clone Wars, and less so in Episode 3.

After watching Revenge of the Sith again, do you wish you had watched the Clone Wars before you watched Revenge of this Sith for the first time?

No spoilers, but you will get to see Rex again. :)

Williams really did make this movie so much more epic with the soundtrack! This movie really is such a great way to show Anakin's turn to the dark side, and it makes us feel so many different things. I haven't seen the deleted scenes, I'm hoping to get to that next week once all my school stuff is done lol

They really developed all the characters in the Clone Wars so well and it's realistic. It's really heartbreaking to see it all happen how it did

It really is just so devastating! I hate how the clones were set up for this, imagine being killed by the people who have been on your side and you've gotten to know so well. I'm still really glad that Ahsoka was able to remove the chip from Rex

This is probably my favourite movie of all time. Seeing it in theatres was wild - everything coming full circle and joining the two trilogies together. Also the soundtrack is amazing. Williams made the film into an opera. Btw, have you seen the Revenge of the Sith deleted scenes? You can find them on YouTube. Padme had a whole side story going on that featured Mon Mothma (played by the same actress from Andor).

Also, you have watched the clone wars. Ashoka was like Winters in Band of Brothers. Most was like Sobel (Ross). Most Jedi did not give a crap in the clone wars about the clones. Expendable meat shields to a threat that is robots in SW (But are real people today (both robots and clones). The dehumanization is astounding to me to witness in a fictional setting. The Clones have to deal with that and will be just discarded. As EVIL as the empire is at least they are not like the CA VTC and ask MULTIPLE times to multiple vets that are struggling with mental health PTSD from Afghan and Iraq wars to be offered medical assistance in dying (MAID). Rather than help them! Let alone the regrets and knowledge of Yoda!

Good Lord. Palpatine's death was fine in Return of the Jedi. It is only because Disney did not have a plan for their trilogy. So Snoke killed in Ep 8. Umm we need a bad guy, Kylo is not it what do we do?!

I really like that with the addition of Clone Wars and the Chips and what happened with Rex, and the Clones like Cody yelling "Blast him!" hits harder. It's more of a tragedy than them just being traitors. We've seen that they cannot stop themselves from executing Order 66. Rex was only able to temporarily resist because he knew about the Chip from Fives, and he still executed the Order. Plus seeing all the Jedi, like Plo, die the way they did is even more devastating. Really looking forward to The Bad Batch.
