Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 (2023) | FULL LENGTH REACTION

Happy Sunday friends!!

This movie was MUCH better than Quantumania!!  I did find it interesting how Star lord wasn't really the main focus most of the time, the screen time was more evenly distributed amongst all of the Guardians.

We finally get to see Rocket's past, and.... it was something, that's for sure 😭

It was a fun movie, with great moments.  I will say that Marvel does serious scenes really well.  The scenes with Peter looking longingly at Gamora and telling her about how they were together are very touching, and I can't even begin to imagine how heart wrenching it would be to be in his shoes.

It was also nice to see how each character has changed!! Nebula has some upgrades, Groot is growing like a weed, and Drax and Mantis are still best friends (even if they'll never say it).

Let me know what you thought of this movie! 🥰

Reminder that you need your own copy of the movie to watchalong, and that there is an extension that allows you to do Picture-in-Picture in case you are interested: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/picture-in-picture-extens/hkgfoiooedgoejojocmhlaklaeopbecg?hl=en

Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 (2023) | FULL LENGTH REACTION

Comments

I can definitely see that. I liked Nebula's reactions/interactions with Rocket, those felt the most real to me. This is my unpopular opinion that I realized with the Guardians Christmas special... some side characters should stay as side characters and not be given more screen time. Their quirks are funny in small doses, but too much and the character loses their funniness. I think the GotG characters are good side characters lol

The screaming was grating yeah. I always try to ignore opening credits so if there are small cameos, I can be surprised when they happen :D

I'm glad you got to enjoy it!! I completely understand struggling with MCU apathy, but this was well done overall. There are issues with it for me, but it's a movie I would rewatch for sure

I doubt this opinion will be shared by others, but I didn’t particularly like Nebula in this one. For some reason it just felt to me like they wrote the part for Gamora, but she was not present at the start and it no longer fit the alt version when she did appear. So they just renamed the lines in the script. Dunno, I just preferred vol2 Nebula

It was fun for me to see Nathan Fillion here, and completely unexpected, although did spot his name in the opening credits. I love him in everything (apart from Buffy). The constant shouting at each other is something I found tiresome fairly early on and did really start to grate by the end. The casual running also bothered me, but I think those are my only real complaints.

This is my first reaction video of yours as a first time watching for myself too, and completely blind. It really helped with my enjoyment of the movie. I was struggling at the start with MCU apathy, but seeing you get emotional, made me emotional, and I started to reconnect with the characters, and ultimately had a really good experience. Overall, I did really enjoy this one.

James Hadden

It was a rollercoaster of emotions 😭 My assumption was that Tony snapped everyone from the other timeline, but clearly not 😂 I guess he could have snapped "everyone against them from the other timeline" which would mean not Gamora.

I really enjoyed watching this with you :) This might be one of favorite MCU movies ever, it just really hits my emotions. Also to answer one of your confusions: I don't think Iron Man snapped the army and Thanos back in time, I think he just snapped them all to death and didn't snap Gamora since she wasn't fighting them. So she just got pulled into the future and then everyone who brought her there died she didn't try to find another time machine (probably cause she'd have no way of knowing who was responsible for a time machine on this strange planet to her)

It was definitely a really great mix of action, drama and comedy! The comedy was very much in line with Guardians of the Galaxy, which feels like a different comedy than the rest of Marvel, so it works! I did like the Bucky's arm part though!!! That was great 🤣

Verowak

The combo of great action, drama, and comedy with ANOTHER killer soundtrack is what puts this trilogy head and shoulders above the rest of the mcu even WITH a weaker 2nd act. We didn't know each other but the closest I've been to famous is I was a freshman when James Gunn was a senior at the same hs lol Glad to see you liked it even though I find it *slightly blasphemous that you disliked the holiday special lol Bucky's arm made me LOL
