Shrek 2 (2004) * FULL LENGTH REACTION

It's time for another Movie Reaction Wednesday!!

I hope everyone is doing well this week, and that you're ready for laughs!

I thoroughly enjoyed watching this gem of a movie, and there are so many references (I'm sure I missed a lot).  So far, both Shrek movies have been pure fun, while having little lessons that we can all learn from.

Donkey is... just great!  I do feel bad that Shrek isn't very patient with him though.

There is an extension that allows you to do Picture-in-Picture in case you are interested: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/picture-in-picture-extens/hkgfoiooedgoejojocmhlaklaeopbecg?hl=en

Do you have a favorite scene in this movie?  Or even just a favorite character?

I can’t believe you’ve never heard of Antonio Banderas (Puss n boots).

Ah, if it’s become a stand out due to social media and memes then I had no chance lol. I only do YT and a couple of discord servers, I don’t do memes, other than those few I see posted during conversations. Yes, I am that boring, I wish I wasn’t, but am unlikely to change now

James Hadden

It's definitely now one of the really stand out quotes, that's for sure lol

Verowak

That makes me feel better, I wouldn’t have got that quote in a million years. Despite being a Star Wars fan I would definitely consider myself a casual one

Quote Trivia is actually Master Yoda when he talks to Luke in Episode 6 😁And yes, Yoda DOES look really old 😂 So many references, yes!! It feels like they really knocked this one out of the park. The siege was just so epic, it does feel like this one is the better of the two, despite the weird audience ratings (clearly they are all wrong! 🤣)

My first guess for quote trivia was Robin Hood PoT - Robin of Locksley to maid Marian upon his return from the crusades? But I’m not sure that fits. So a complete shot in the dark would be Braveheart, but having not seen that in almost 30 years I have no idea. I should really just delete this and not guess at all. This was really really good, soooooo many references. I had a lot of fun watching along with you as always, thank you. The audience ratings you looked up are staggering to me, this was so much better than the first one in my opinion. I loved Jennifer Saunders (British comedy actress) as the Fairy Godmother, so much of her personality and I’m sure more than a little Ab Fab’s Edina. IMDB trivia - I believe LOTR was released at the very end of the year so gross was split over 2 years. Oh, just looked it up and even combined wasn’t all that much, huh

I feel like animated movies are usually pretty great (though I don't have that much experience with them, the ones I've seen have always been fun, entertaining or just well made). The Star Wars Holiday Special will be in all of my Christmas movie polls until it gets chosen 🤣

I’ve always avoided watching the shrek movies because I didn’t think they’d be good but I was proven wrong. Not sure why watching this movie brought it up in my mind but if you ever want to go trough 1 hour 30 (ish) of pure cringe and pain for Star Wars content you can react to the "1978 Star Wars Holiday Special" you can find the whole thing on YouTube.

King_Panarisi

Yes!!! The first one is also great

Verowak

haha 😄 I'll have to go watch the first one... so I can see this.
