Solo - A Star Wars Story *FULL LENGTH*

It's Wednesday my dudes!

Just want to start off by singing you all a little song I thought up of: A little bit of Chewie in my life, a little bit of Lando by my side, a little bit of Qi'ra's all I need, a little bit of L3's what I see, a little bit of Beckett in the sun, a little bit of Dryden all night long, a little bit of Han, here I am, a little bit of you makes me your reactor!

Well that was the extent of my thought process for today, and I spent it all on writing out a song for you :D

This will be a short one today since I'm still in a mind fog due to COVID, but here we have SOLO!!!  This is the most comedy and funny quips that I want in my Star Wars movie.  It may have been a bit too much, actually, but that's ok.  This felt very different than the other Star Wars movies that I've seen, and not on par with Rogue One by any stretch of the imagination.  There are obviously some good parts that I enjoyed, but overall, it is one of my least favorite Star Wars movies.

Also... I don't know how true this is but Taika Watiti may be making Star Wars movies which I sincerely hope he does NOT.  I don't want Star Wars to become a comedic franchise.  I haven't seen any serious movie that he's made, all of them have had some... modern comedy in them, which I am really not a fan of.

That's enough of my ranting, next up in the Star Wars movie-verse is the sequels which I'm aware are not well liked, but I'm still curious to see what they're all about!  Perhaps they will make SOLO look better? 😢

I hope you're all having a great week, and I will keep you posted on when Clone Wars will be up (the one for tomorrow (Thursday) is still a go).

In the wise words of Sir Chewbacca the first: Rrrrruuuuuuuurrrrrrr.

P.S. I finally got groceries delivered so the return of non-water is imminent!  Though they didn't have lemonade so I went with other kinds!

That was a neat deleted scene! I feel like I really need to take time to find all the deleted scenes from the movies and watch them. I'm hoping to learn more about Darth Maul AND Qi'ra in the shows, since it feels like it's leaving me with questions I want answered! I did learn that both Solo and Rogue One start at the same time (Rogue One when Jyn was a kid and her father was being taken away to work on the Death Star). So I guess this means that Han worked around Tatooine for many years. I'm hoping there's a crossover of some kind between what we saw in Solo and some of the animated shows. I just love being able to be like "omg this is what was going on in movie X" I can definitely see how many think Han did not need his own movie, I would place myself in that camp. I feel like there are probably way more interesting and important storylines that could be tackled. Then again, I feel like 2018 was the time for superhero comedic inclined movies, so it would fit in that time period for movie style.

That's exactly it! His humor should be for his own movies, not established franchises. Kindergarten humor is the best way to explain it, imo, and it gets tiring VERY quickly :( I don't think he should have free reign on a Star Wars movie, ever (unless of course he's capable of making a movie with no comedic aspects)

That's what happens when you push off getting groceries a lot lol Living off scraps like water. If I take pills that make me feel better... I feel better! So there's that 🀣

Not started the movie yet but couldn't hold off commenting about this: Water not lemonade?!?! What is this madness, but I'll let it slide this time because of the top tier Han fact you opened with :VerowaSmug: Thanks for the poem and I hope you kick covid's butt!

The notion of Taika Watiti making Star Wars, kinda scares me a bit. I like his humor for his own (?) movies, but he already made some of them for a certain other Disney franchise, and in my opinion it didn't translate well at all. I understand that some people enjoyed them, but to me it ended up feeling like kindergarten humor.

TIMELINE: So Solo is set around 13-10 BBY just around 8 years after the events of Revenge of the Sith. The Empire has only been around for nearly a decade so besides Bad Batch and Jedi Fallen Order this is the earliest we've seen the Empire. DELETE SCENE: So there was actually a deleted scene that showed Han flying a Tie Fighter while training leading to his disobeying orders and being sent to he frontlines as an Army Trooper at the Battle of Mimban. Deleted Scene - https://youtu.be/2TvzXPhzr4U BATTLE OF MIMBAN: I loved the Battle in the opening The Mimban Campaign, also known as the Battle of Mimban a planetary war between the Galactic Empire and Mimbanese Liberation Army in 10 BBY during the early years of the Imperial Era just 9 years after Order 66. This is still 8 years before the formation of the Rebel Alliance but there's still conflicts across the galaxy there's just no large alliance of forces who came together to fight the Empire. That's pretty much what the Rebel Alliance is planets and factions who formed Rebel cells and then came together in 2 BBY to form the Rebel Alliance including the people of Mimban. ARMY TROOPERS: The troopers you see on Mimban are the 224th Imperial Armored Division, previously the 224th Clone Division an Army Trooper unit. This is the first time we've seen Army Troopers in a Star Wars movie or show which is crazy to me that it took this long. Imperial Army Troopers were the standard infantry soldiers made up of conscripts. They were separate from the more loyal and elite white-armored stormtroopers and the fleet troopers of the Imperial Navy who we see much more of in these films so most people think that Stormtroopers are the backbone of the Empire but in reality it's actually the Imperial Army Troopers. WAS THAT!!! So yes that person at the end is indeed Darth Maul from The Phantom Menace a character who you'll learn more about watching Clone Wars. That's all I can say. Around this time this is when Star Wars started to connect into the Animated shows much more from Solo to Mandalorian in 2019 etc. Overall I enjoyed this film but it did release at a bad time in 2018 when fans were upset with The Last Jedi and felt they needed to boycott future projects while others thought a movie about Han Solo was unneeded or felt the actor did not suit the role. Personally prefer Rogue One myself but I don't mind Solo at all.
