Reasons like these are why I find it totally absurd for anyone to listen to an English dub for a Japanese anime

2025-04-02 18:41:37 +0000 UTCI like the accolates for Violet's VA, Yui Ishikawa (also Mikasa's VA). She's said Violet is her favorite of all her roles. She and the series director worked closely together for a long time to get vocals, tone, and inflections just right for Violet.

For my part there's no mirthful handrubbing that an episode is going to crush Ben, just anticipation for all the catharsis this show gives everyone for their own reasons. It's so beautifully earnest and open about the wonderful things we can feel and some of the dark that comes with them (and the beauty implied in them. The story has no pretense and never hides what it's doing cause it's entirely direct and sincere, the same as Violet. You only get to watch this for the first time once and it's a pleasure when you get to be along for that ride for someone else.
