Also to answer Anna's question at the end of 'why he [Leskinen] didn't stop her [Kuriusu] from going' to Japan, it's probably because of what brainwashed child Kagari told him about the future. Keeping Kurisu alive risks Russia not getting time machine info and thus also risks not creating the dystopia in which he had access to war orphans in the hospital for his brainwashing/spy/enhancement program.
