I mean, the man gods advice is what is curing his ED though. He went to the school and into the library to do the research, and that is what led to him getting close to Sylphie. Sure, they met earlier at the test, but a) he wasnt even going to go to the school and b) its pretty likely Sylphie would not have taken the initiative to get close to him if she didnt have the easy excuse of helping out with the research (shes clearly too shy/worried to take the initiative). To me, it seemed clear that Rudy put 2 and 2 together and realized that the Man God telling him to research the teleportation incident to cure his ED was meant to get him close to Fitz, who is what is fixing him. Rudy understands that Fitz turns him on and its his attraction and growing connection to Fitz that is going to fix him. As for him not putting it together that Fitz is Sylphie? Its easy to laugh when we have the omniscient view. He hasnt seen her since he and she was what, 5? Maybe 7 tops? People tend to look fairly different from 7 to 15, not to mention that the hair color is completely different. The only thing similar going in is being an elf and able to silent cast, but silent casting, while rare, isnt something crazy unique. Its been mentioned by others that its impressive but there are other people who can silent cast. IMO, there isnt a real reason for Rudy to think that Fitz is Sylphie, especially when "Fitz" has been spending time with him for the past year and never said anything along the lines of "remember me?" or "Im Sylphie". I know I would never recognize a childhood friend if we separated during those age ranges if they had different hair and wore totally different clothes... even moreso if they were connected to high class people my old friend never had any connections to.

2023-09-12 05:02:30 +0000 UTCIt’s hilarious how Rudy thinks him researching the mass teleportation is the reason for "the cure" like the man god told him, instead of piecing together that it’s Fitz that actually turns him on because he can subconsciously tell it’s Sylphie. I think it’s obvious the man god is trying to bring them together to catch 2 birds with one stone. Getting Rudy to find out more about the mass teleportation and reuniting him with Sylphie who will help him along the journey. Know a lot of people don’t like this trope of dragging out the reveal as it should’ve been obvious to Rudy who Fitz is, but I still enjoy this plot armor level of obliviousness he has going sometimes for the sake of building up tension. Will make for a nice moment later this season for sure.
