That their sons were taken by his brother, and explains why she has a rough time accepting that, but this also affects Phillip too, and he wants to free his sons and see them again. His offer to Rudy seems sleezy, and it is, but Phillip will do anything to see his kids again, and he knows rudy and Eris like each other so to him it seems like a win win.

2023-02-16 20:27:30 +0000 UTCI dont know if you guys read all the insame amount of messages you get, but i want to point some things to complement your after-episode talk (there's no spoilers at all) - In the novel, the moment where rudy is having his inner monologue in the floor is more extended, he thinks in 10 years is still the same scumbag he was in earth and hasnt learned nothing, and he was in no position to be eris' teacher. So he decided to leave the house next morning and never coming back, and then eris appears and told all this to rudy. (i honestly hate that the series skips this because it was very important in rudy's growth) - Eris was there with night clothes because hilda sent her to be with rudeus for the night. - Ghislaine said her master was the Sword God Gal Farion. Basically the most powerful man in the sword god style (being god rank) was Ghislaine's teacher. - In the vast story of mushoku tensei, there's more "turning point" episodes. Basically turning point episodes change's rudy's life forever, and are extremely important moments in the series. - This is the last "episode so uncomfortable that ben has to look the other way" and if you still love the series after this, then the real ride starts now.
