The translation calls Hayasaka either Kaguya's maid or personal assistant, but she's actually more like her lady-in-waiting—a lower-ranking noble who attends to a high-ranking noblewoman (Hayasaka is like the daughter of an earl and Kaguya the daughter of a duke) . A lot of Americans don't really get the dynamic and mistakenly view her as a member of the underclass.
