Thanks for 2022

Another year comes to an end. Shortly we'll be recording our traditional Best & Worst show for New Year's Eve, and then it will be into the massive 2023 that lies ahead, including Australia's Test tour of India, the World Test Championship, two Ashes series, a women's T20 World Cup and the men's 50-over version.

The entire reason that we're able to be at so many of these matches and to keep making The Final Word our own way is because of you supporting it. Patreon has been the lifeblood. If there are things we can do to make your time here better, please always feel welcome to let us know.

If we get our supporter numbers back past Jimmy Anderson's wicket tally, we'll have more scope to make shows like the video above. Some of the pieces we're proudest of are those we've filmed with Cam the Cameraman Fink. The mockumentary Holy Ground, the visit to Pomborneit cricket club, and the one from this week, with Josie Sangster at the Johnny Mullagh Interpretive Centre in the Victorian town of Harrow. This gives the background on the great player Unaaramin and the 1868 tour, and loops around to Scott Boland becoming the first Australian to win the Mullagh Medal in 2021.

The audio for that episode is here.

Textbook back-foot punch.

The Final Word Daily

With Adam back in London and asleep by tea time, the Daily fell to Geoff and Bharat in Melbourne as it will in Sydney. Aside from the show being funny, we appreciate your appreciation for the very strong shirt game that persisted through this match. When you have a hometown Test, you have more options with wardrobe.

The audio shows are in the pod feed, the videos for this resplendent glory are in the usual spot on the tube channel. The unplanned ending to the Day 4 show tickled us tremendously.

That's it for now, we'll be back in no time from Sydney, and there should be a Story Time before then too. As ever, drop us a line on the Discord chat page, or if you're not there, send us a DM in the message inbox for the access link.

Farewell to 2022, let's hang out next year.

Thanks for 2022

Happy New Year to you both, and to all TFW family. Looking forward to next year and thanks for all the joy you brought me this year.

Happy New Year, Geoff and Adam. 🥂🎉
