World Test Champs and making change for women in India

If you've been watching the England-India women's Test, you may have noticed a familiar voice on commentary. Adam has been calling the match for Sky and doing an excellent job. Geoff is now living out his dream of being able to directly message disagreements to commentators while watching the TV.

We're also doing the Daily show for that Test, and will roll it into a double Daily when the World Test Championship starts tonight. The most recent episode on video is above. It's also in the audio feed. The video playlist for all our Daily shows is here.

TFW Weekly

Season 10, Ep 8: You may also have noticed that the show didn't go up in the podcast feed on Wednesday – sorry about that, it is now live. We will blame... technical difficulties? It was finished, just not published. The podcast equivalent of forgetting that you've left the iron on.

Also, there will be no Story Time this coming weekend, not because we've forgotten to post it, but because we're doing eight days straight of Daily shows, and that will be enough.

Which makes the preview of the women's Test somewhat redundant, but luckily that was a small part of our conversation with Snehal Pradhan - the former India bowler has become an advocate for women in India, and co-wrote the the report An Equal Hue on the problems and solutions facing women's cricket. You will still have time to hear our preview of the World Test Championship, as well as covering Shakib's meltdown in Bangladesh, Tim Paine on troubles with Australia's many-times-quarantining players, Ebony Rainford-Brent's gong, and a surprising appointment to the Cricket Australia board.

Your Nerd Pledge number this week:

Story Time 51 – Geoff learns algebra

In last weekend's Story Time: back to the Smokers v Non-Smokers match for a minute, via a trip to the West Country. An all-time great finish that you won't remember, an unwanted record for drink-mixing, and a whole lot of confusion about x and y and what happens in between. Pretty proud of the basic level of competence we eventually attained.

Your new Nerd Pledge numbers:
4.11 – Not That Tim Minchin & Rory Seymour
3.35 – Sam Chappell
3.57 – James Tiernan
3.75 – Matt Keane

Plus revisits and confirmations. The episode audio is here.

That seems like enough for one week. Plenty to come. Jimmy Anderson is on 617, we're on 615. Stick with us. x
