Cricket and BLM, with Ebony Rainford-Brent

We may not have sent out last week's episode yet given the US election came along, but it featured an eye-opening interview.

Season 9, Ep 6: Our first long interview in 2020 was with Ebony Rainford-Brent, when the world looked very different. Nine months on, the former England player has been a prominent voice as cricket addresses the Black Lives Matter movement, and has received a big boost to the ACE program that she initiated to get more black English players into the game. It was another revealing conversation with one of the most dedicated people in cricket. Also this week, Shane Watson’s professional retirement, some WBBL, and one of the best Sheffield Shield rounds in modern memory.

The previous weekend's show came with the world in flux, so another edition of Story Time took us back to the calm within the belly of cricket history. From the Battle of the Ridge to some of Lancashire’s finest, we have you covered. Then a conversation with the always funny Dan Liebke, who has a new book out.

ERB is such a role model.

Absolutely right, my main interest was that he's so close to Bannerman's mark but just below. That Glenn Turner innings is something else.

https://cricketarchive.com/Archive/Scorecards/37/37233.html

Glenn Turner beats Bannerman in FC cricket, 141* in a total of 169. An eye-watering 83.43% of the total. Bannerman was 165* out of 245; a mere 67.3%!!

Thanks Thomas. It's a tricky one, deciding what to talk about and when. And yes, Stuart's video will be up shortly for those who couldn't see it live. We talked about some related things with him.

Wow 101 out of 150 last batsmen dismissed

I didn't see this - must take a look! Ta!

Not related to this, but I hope Dean Elgar gets a shout now or at the weekend for coming so close to Bannerman for Titans lately.

Will the MacGill show be recorded to watch later on? Got teary at Geoff's discussion of MH earlier in the week.
