End of Outer Wilds!

I gave a big bunch of jumbled thoughts at the end of the video so I won't spoil anything in here but I just want to thank everyone for your support on this series and for your support on Patreon while I have had a break on YouTube. All of you have kept my love of making videos alive during a strange rocky period of time for me!

Also thank you to everyone who has visited during my chatty streams over on Twitch this past week! I have loved streaming again! Its been really lovely to have company. I don't know the future of lets-plays on Twitch because its such a different viewing experience but I absolutely will keep story focused games to YouTube, maybe use streams for bigger and open world games. It would be cool to be able to edit them down for YouTube but we will see. I really like Gab's editing style for streams, could try to emulate that if I find time in the future!
Finally, one more heads up on the audio for these videos - something is going on with my mic or XLR cable, there's a bit of cracking here and there and also the voice volume varies wildly in the same recording so its been hard to level it out hahaha. Looks like the stream's audio issues have extended to my recordings haha.
I have had some more thoughts about the future on YouTube after having this down period and feeling so tired. I want to try different things on the Channel this year - which is a bit scary, but I have to give it a go! Guess we will see if and when it happens. Need a bit of a refresh with content I think! The games I have spoke about and plans for the moment won't change though don't worry!

Seconding the Making of Outer Wilds documentary, such a small team put in so much work perfecting the game, I can't imagine what it would be like for them to try making another galaxy of unique planets.

You said at the end what I wager most of us felt after reaching the end of Outer Wilds -- "I want more." The feelings of yearning for more of what this game gave me were so strong. No other experience has been quite like it. But watching your playthrough made me fall in love with that cozy little solar system all over again, so thank you for that. This may have been the game that brought me to your channel's doorstep, but I'm here to stay for more fun and shared adventures. Great series, see you on the next one!

I decided not to play it myself because I didn't enjoy the base game as much as I'd wanted, and I thought I wouldn't enjoy Echoes that much either. But I love watching your gameplay so I decided to watch, and thank goodness! The dlc was so much more my speed; beautiful, dark, thought-provoking and, ultimately, heartbreaking, plus really cool river raft aesthetic. I never would have known without watching this let's play, so thank you. You did such a great job, and i love how enthusiastic and obviously having fun you always are. Thanks for sharing with us! β€οΈ

2023-01-25 18:15:50 +0000 UTCIt was wonderful watching the conclusion to the series and hearing you handle a lot of the same emotions a lot of us probably felt when it was over. It doesn't sound like there's any additional DLC planned, but Andrew Prahlow (the composer) put out an album called The Lost Reels that's definitely worth a listen as a sort of farewell to the game.

If you want more Outer Wilds there is a really well made documentary by the youtube channel "noclip" where they interview the dev team. Fascinating how the game started off as a university thesis project. Looking forward to your next game playthrough π

Sadly I probably won't ever catch a stream live due to timezones but it's good to see that you're trying to keep twitch and youtube content a bit separate; doing side-content on stream and main content for a video. You're one of the only Outer Wilds playthroughs I've seen that didn't have twitch chat watching them the whole time!

And you just make amazing playthorughs of story games. You pick up on details and craft theories and just get so immersed, it's pure bliss!! <3 <3
