Every once in a while, I'll write a track for a client, and even if they like it, they deem it not quite appropriate for their project. Sometimes that's a blessing! For example: right now! This track was written for a certain indie game that I'm working on, but it just wasn't quite the right vibe for the project. Luckily, I was able to retool it to work for all of you.
"Slay the Serpent" is desert combat music, plain and simple. Fighting some sandy bandits? Duking it out in a forgotten pyramid? Crawling your way out of the Sarlacc Pit? Put this track on. Some crunchy electric guitar, slappy goblet drums, and slightly out-of-tune zither's situate this firmly in "cinematic desert music" territory, but it should be appropriate for a variety of exotic locales, even if they're less than sandy. It's extremely busy, so if this is too distracting, you might want to snag the "Bass and Percussion" or "Sparse" variant. For everything else, "Slay the Serpent" should do the trick.
We're getting close to the end of Music d20 Season 3 right now, so please let me know if there's anything else you think the third album is currently lacking. Suggestions are always welcome! Also, week 2 of the Listening Club is now live on the Discord, and we're talking about the soundtrack to Howl's Moving Castle. If you want in, consider pledging at the Artist Tier or higher!
