Mysterious Temple Vibes
Added 2020-05-25 17:03:34 +0000 UTCWell, Music d20 Season 3 is well underway! Despite the release date, "On The Rail" from a few week ago is actually the first track I made for Vol. 3, and I've got a bunch of other cool new tracks planned for the coming months.
This release today is my track "Forbidden Texts." It's more ambient than most of my work, but I think the simple melody and slowly shifting textures evoke a variety of creepy temples. I was trying to mimic the sound of Koto with my acoustic guitar, which... I think was moderately successful at best. That said, I'm quite happy with the sort of "vaguely exotic" sound that I achieved nonetheless.
In addition to shady pagodas, this track is perfect for cultist lairs, ancient evils, and warlock pact shenanigans. Maybe a fiend is trying to strike a deal with your party, or you're debating whether to don the clearly cursed armor. As long as the atmosphere is creepy and foreboding, I think this track is fitting, whether you're in an Eastern themed environ or not.
