Riding the Lightning Rail - Collaboration with Venatus Maps
Added 2020-05-07 15:01:47 +0000 UTCA few weeks ago, I brought you a brand new collaboration with Venatus Maps, a regional map for his setting The Great Expanse. When I heard he was working on a hybrid map / asset combo for the railroad in the region, I honestly couldn't believe the fortuitous timing. Earlier this week, y'all voted on "Riding the Lightning Rail" to be the theme for your May track request. This right here was a perfect marriage: some chugging railroad music that perfectly suits the theme of VM's awesome new release.
Venatus Maps' assets are perfectly designed for you to mix and match the various train cars, so you can meticulously craft the scene of your next murder mystery, high speed battle, or lengthy roleplaying encounter. I'm so excited about this new campaign setting, and I'm really jealous of Venatus Maps' players who get to experience this world firsthand. My track "On the Rail" is ideal for Eberron adventures. It was really fun figuring out how to evoke the constant churning of the arcane engines, mixed with a hint of Americana frontier scoring and the sci-fi / mechanical sounds of the train itself. Beyond your Eberron adventures, this could totally pass for airship music, music for a mysterious factory or mine, or even a Firefly-esque space Western.
