2025-08-31 11:34:35 +0000 UTCI think you have some missing pieces in this equasion tbh. The "Passion" you're mentioning you have for your hobbies seems to be something you care about in your Ideology. You might like the "idea" of reaching your goals and the feeling you'll get when you've completed the things you're working on, but your body doesn't understand that... at least not in that way, its like a different language. Your interests in the "current moment" of what you want to or feel like doing is totally dependent on conditions that aren't idealistic, you can't force yourself to do things that your body just doesn't feel like doing by sheer willpower, for long. Working at a 9-5 is a Responsibility based social circumstance where your efforts are gratified by the social conditions you're in, which is what your body understands and values. If you fuck up and do poorly in your work, there are other people and things that rely on your performance that you're causing negativity to, while if you simply chose not to work on your project, you don't technically lose anything, at least your body sees that way which is why you're having trouble controlling your in the moment decision making. Look at work, your rewards are external, for example the money you receive from work is a rewards you cannot give yourself on your own, and the punishment of not complying with your work is also not under your control. When it comes to your own projects however, you can't even reward yourself in the same way because your body would simply not accept it in a way that'll give you that complete control. An example would be, if you reward yourself with watching Sweet and Sour as a good job reward for working on your projects, you can always just choose to watch it anyway without actually doing the work, which will crack over time, or if you assign punishments to yourself for not being diciplined, the you that chose to break your promise to yourself and procrastinate will also simply choose to not punish themselves over it. Poki, Lilly, and many others didn't go through this in this exact way, there are many differences in these scenarios. They were doing things that they actually wanted to do, not just ideally, but also their body reacted to the productivity they were feeling from the acts that they already enjoyed. The "entertainment" you consume, and the act of consuming for you, is not your job... for them, it ended up being their job, which made their "work" easier. First, you have to do something that you actually enjoy doing in your ideal, and your body, if your body hates the process of doing your projects then it'll be a war you won't be able to win forever, you'll resent it over time. If you do have something that you enjoy while doing but you simply can't start the darn thing because you're too tired or demotivated at any moment, What you need is accountability, and some reward/punishment structure that your body also reacts to. It has to be for something you enjoy, not something you have to forever force yourself to be diciplined with. If you have the option to, ask a friend to be your accountability partner, by simply involving someone else in your process makes your body feel the importance of the plan you have, and it normalizes your ideal priorities. Even if they aren't a part of the project literally, just be on a call or in a common space with them as you're doing your own thing, it solved my personal battles I've been going through for the last 6 years. And one thing you have to keep in mind is to be kind to yourself when you just don't feel like doing things... burnout is real, and your body searches for stimulation sometimes its ok, try to balance pleasing your body, while making sure you set your priorities right. Im sure a lot of people in this community can relate to the feeling of knowing you're passionate about something but feeling a sense of disgust when you think about stoping your procrastination, Lilly has an artist community so Im sure Artblock is a major thing people go through aswell. If you're wondering Im an Animator trying to make my own anime lol shts hard when you have to be your own great boss and best employee at the same time, Good luck and have fun please.

2025-08-26 12:31:17 +0000 UTCQuestion. To get to where you have in life, the two of you seem to have something I've always lacked: discipline to chase your dreams. At my 9-5? yeah I'll work and I'll work hard, but when I get home and I've settled in, and it's really supposed to be time to work on my passion projects in the hours I have before bed? I can and do and will use every trick in the book to procrastinate. Tbh it is the single biggest source of depression in my life - my inability to do the things I KNOW I want to do/should be doing in my spare time. So, my question is: how did the two of you get into the habit of putting in the right amount of time to give yourself a realistic shot at making something out of your hobbies/passions? because fr, after a shift at work? I will do anything to excuse myself to just bedrot and enjoy entertainment until it's time to go to sleep. What did you say to yourselves to just force yourselves out of this cycle of accepting procrastination on a daily/weekly/monthly/yearly basis? cheers - you guys rock.

2025-08-24 17:26:16 +0000 UTCI would love to hear more about their experiences with women not supporting women in the content creator space. Ive heard my share deal of women shaming other women myself included for wearing catears.. too much make up.. simply showing abit of boobs.. having abit higher avg than them... you name it. And its quite hard sometimes to deal with so im curious how lily and poki have delt with that stuff!

2025-08-18 20:52:27 +0000 UTCI’m just now going back to College at the age of 30 because I was young and irresponsible and dropped out when I did it at 18. What experiences do you guys have with education? Good study habits? General advice? The fall semester just started and I’m soooo nervous. Will I do well in my classes? Will I like my professors? Will the other students in class who are just out of high school laugh and say I have negative aura? I’m majoring in Computer Science with a focus on AI. I promise if I get my degree to not use if for evil, just to improve AI cat videos.
