Regarding the bow roller. In the past I've used a chain gypsy as the bow roller, that way I could have a spare gypsy, as the bow roller was the same dimensions as the windlass. The rope rode will often do just fine being hauled in over the gypsy. Thinning the spacers will become a common activity over time as the bronze oxide is larger than the bronze, so they grow. Do you have a way to get back aboard if you fall in? (I'm thinking of crocs on the whisker stays) I suppose you could pull yourself up on the bobstay and climb board over the bow. I loved the feel of this video, really seemed real. It's also a joy to watch a person take their boat off the dock without any running around or even a hint of panic. Nice guitar music !!
