The Australian Wooden Boat Festival.

We saw incredible vessels of all shapes and sizes at the Australian Wooden Boat Festival. Here are two impressive tall ships - the James Craig, a 19th century barque, and the Australian-built replica of James Cook's HMB Endeavour. Hundreds of smaller wooden boats also attended, and of course there were some amazing talks and activities - in particular some really fascinating information and stories around traditional Pacific voyaging.

The Australian Wooden Boat Festival is held every 2 years in Hobart, Tasmania, and is well worth a visit! I'd like to thank everyone at the festival for welcoming us so warmly and looking after us so well during our visit. We definitely hope to be back... perhaps aboard Tally Ho!?

I visited Endeavour a good many years ago when she was here in Port Townsend! At least I think it was that replica, it was Australian built.
