Development update: 12/11/21

Lot's of progress this week, tracker is below.

The gallery scenes are done, and the last few will be rendered overnight tonight. Work has begun on the final scene (the first draft of the script is done) I will be creating those scenes over the weekend whilst I begin writing the hospital scenes.

Another aspect I want to finish by next week is the last 3 hidden items. This brings me nicely onto that subject.

Recently I read a comment that unless a prompt is shown that there is something to collect on screen, they don't bother looking for the hidden items or images. This was a good point, as although I do have items that highlighted when you moved the mouse over them, other than the player constantly waving the mouse all over each image there was no way for the player to know there was something to click.

Being taken out of the story, to find a specific spot on the screen to click is not engaging gameplay. I still like the idea of having hidden images, but now a small magnifying glass will be shown in the top left when there is an image for you to find. This will only show when there is actually an image you need to collect - so you wont be looking for something you already have in your collection.

It's a small quality of life change, but, it was easy to implement and should give those who like hunting for the additional images some feedback as to when they can find them.

The changelog for 0.3.8 is actually growing quite large, a few bug fixes, but many small QoL improvements.. There are still a few areas , but I think we are moving into the final look of the VN.

As this is a supporter only post, I can post the image of Louise and Kimiko here. This was a special one off render I did for reaching 1000 followers on twitter. There is a 4k and 8k version attached.
