Dev update & Let's code video.

Hello,

Another busy week comes to an end. I'm still completing the last animations. Unfortunately, due to an error I've had to go back and re-render several frames, so as a consequence the last animation will be completed over the weekend.

I have, however, made progress on the next lot of scenes to be created. Part of this was the build and creation of the set below:

The above has been edited since that screen grab was taken, however, an in-DAZ preview is below:

You may be able to work out whose bedroom this is, and what significance it will play in the story.

I have recorded the video of me making this room, and once I've edited it, it will be available on YouTube soon. The video above is the first in a Let's Code series. This one focuses on choice menus. I hope it is interesting and helpful. If you have other suggestions for areas of code you would like to see covered - let me know.

There are still 4 images of Cindy to be released, these will be for the two highest tiers of support. I will be brainstorming the bonus scene so expect to see a poll for you to vote on either next week, or the week after.

I recently reached 200 followers on twitter, and I would like to record this milestone with a special image - this will be something themed around Dreams of Reality. I am considering making an 8k and 4k version available to supporters.

That's all for this week, stay safe all!

Thanks for the feedback, and yeah totally agree about the music. The microphone is a headset one. I would like to buy a proper microphone - but for now it's on the list of 'would likes'. Renpy is very easy to use, it's one of it's strengths - you don't really need much (if any!) coding experience to be able to make a Visual Novel. Since it's using the python language you can get some very interesting and complex code structures. I have planned to cover variables and how to keep track of events, and to also cover what to do if you need to add a variable to a previous release - not got an ETA on it yet though. As for mind maps, present me wants to poke me of a year ago and say "hey, you know those variables you're creating... you might wanna map them out to each character before hand." Ah well.

Hey mate, thanks for the coding video, you're super reactive to the requests, that's great! I really enjoyed it. hopefully you'll continuue with them. If I may add a feedback: music is nice, but it's too high compared to the mic, which seems to be low quality. Please increase mic vol and lover music vol. :) I see renpy is stupid simple to use, but I wonder if there's something more evolved rather than having to type all that everytime. I guess it's possible to use functions and methods rather than having to rewrite the scaffholding all the time, but you're probably going to cover that in a future video. An interesting point is how you keep track of choices and counters that enabled/disable them: do you use mind maps? I'd like to see a video about that too. Thanks bud, keep up the good work!

Indeed, I'm still working out what works and what doesn't. In future I will probably have no background music on these types of videos.

Good video, but the music is too distracting.
