They were bonus chapters published in the first databooks and then published at the end of some volumes. They're were numbered Chapter 0 and called "The Sand and the Rotator", Side A and Side B respectively. They were adapted verbatim so nothing was changed, but of course the context is butchered becasue of the whole Bount mess. So this is actually the Bount arc being so bad its badness metastasized to canon content.
