Each platform normalizes volume differently and that process does not change your sonic fidelity. Ie, that is what loudness penalty does. It just plays your music back at different levels. The conversion to mp3/ogg/aac does make a difference though and that is where we need to apply our knowledge :). Which come down to -1 true peak and lufs to taste

Great advice on getting the most from the mastering, I'm just getting back into music after some time off and have been looking into LUFS etc. I agree mixing and mastering to a set LUFS can be distracting and confusing. Focusing on dynamics that fit the track/genre and getting the best sound is more important to me.
This may be something everyone is already aware of but may be useful for checking mixes on the various streaming services. https://www.loudnesspenalty.com/
I tried two masters of the same track on the site, one with -14 LUFS and -1dB True Peak and my normal master which was -10 LUFS and -0.3 True Peak. Not a massive difference to the sound when processed by the streaming algorithms. I guess the decision to produce separate masters for the various services is a personal one based on time, effort and perceived benefit.

That’s great thanks Guido, very interesting on the bass trade-off with loudness. Makes a lot of sense .. sorry about the last question was really about iTunes uploading iCloud and what it does... dyslexia rules KO on that one 😂 .. fuck you Grammarly. 🤣. Thanks again buddy 🤘🏽🦞
