Your spl meter is connected to your volume knob (the on connected to your speakers) :). Just adjust your literal volume knob and you can keep going. However during production I would just hang out and vibe with the song. No need to get super geeky in that part.

Guido, when I have my reference track in with 6 db of headroom on the master and then put all the faders up on my track (not mixed yet still in production stage) and also leave 6db of headroom I get 3-4 db less volume on my phone spl meter. It´s because my track is not mixed an mastered yet right? Would you not worry about it in the production process? I am trying to always produce, mix and listen at the same volume (on the spl meter on my phone), this would mean that during the production process I would have little to no headroom on the master in order to get the same volume on the spl meter. Is that a problem?

When you have found your optimal playing level take your headphones of and place them next or over your spl meter? Do that again when you notice yourself messing with the volume.. I guess that would work as a quick hack.
