Israel-Hamas Flash Report 23 OCT 2023 - 15:10 PDT - Smallpox has NOT Been Detected in Gaza
Added 2023-10-23 22:13:13 +0000 UTCI've seen some shocking things spread by news organizations that should know better but here we are.
Al Jazeera ran a story claiming that Smallpox, infecting 50ish people had been confirmed in the Gaza Strip. Their source was a since deleted tweet (xeet, X whatever) from UNWRA - the U.N. mission in Palestine. We have no idea what was in that tweet but find it incredibly hard to believe that a claim was made there is smallpox in Gaza.
The only way smallpox could be spread is as intentional bioweapon or an accidental lab leak. It is eradicated and has been for decades. If we go down this rabbit hole, smallpox doesn't care about where you live or your genetics. We learned in 2020 there will be no stopping the spread and this would be a global stability shattering event.
CNN appears to have quoted the Al Jazeera story for their story.

There is nothing from UNWRA on their official press page, their recent video updates, or their daily situation reports mentioning anything about smallpox, a concern about smallpox, or accusations of a bioweapon release or an accident.
We should not need to hold much larger organizations then us accountable.

I guess some enterprising troll farm worker wanted to counter the vetted evidence of wanton murder and animalistic mayhem. I was trying to stay away from all visual news today to spare my sanity, but my friends send me random stuff they read as if I was some kind of guru and it pulls me back. I guess the story about Mr. P's heart attack is already being retracted, , but I don't think I can remember a day when we had THREE news events, true of fake, of this caliber in a day.
