This arc more than most is reworked from the novels, a lot of novel only characters were originally involved in the story, so the TV show had to do a lot of rearranging of people in order to get it to work. Not saying one is better than the other, just different. and of course, the structure of what happens in this arc is mostly the same. I do think you're going to like this arc.
