2023-09-25 12:23:18 +0000 UTC*Regarding Downloads* I requested the download from Mega (Thanks!), and then I also downloaded the patreon stream using https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp, with the command: yt-dlp --cookies-from-browser "chrome:Profile 1" https://www.patreon.com/posts/expanse-2x13-89726605 I then compared the 2 files. • Megas download is full hd h264 @ 8Mb/s. (File size 2.6Gb) • Patreons download is full hd h264 @ 4Mb/s (File size 1.4Gb) To my eye, there is no noticable difference in video quality between the two. In each case the audio is 44.1khz aac @ 191kb/s. But the bitstreams are not identical, which leads me to believe that patreon transcoded the audio as well as the video. However, again, I could not tell the difference here. So, my main take away is, if you have a limited bandwidth or metered internet - then use the patreon stream, but if you are a perfectionist - request the download from Mega. Personally, I'll probably download the patreon versions so I don't make extra work for Mega giving out links. And FYI, for long term storage (yes, I archive all the patron reactions I watch on my nas and watch them through plex), I myself transcode the files to h265/hevc 2Mb/s video anyway.
