Also, I think it's important that you made the difference there, beween nobody wanting to deal with Liz herself as a bio mom, compared to the idea of open adoption in general. Again, on some cases, this idea can very well save a child's soul, but on other cases it won't be a great Idea, true. In this case? I think Liz just doesn't want to be Katarina. However, thinking about a future child's needs should come first. It doesn't sound horrible when you say this is not for you. You're aware. There are planty of people who think they can and end up being horrible parents. Thank Goodness I was blessed with great ones :)

Good riddance, what was he about to do, shoot a CI? nice going. Also, what on earth is Tom trying to do? This had disaster written all over it. Regarding an open adoption, as someone who was adopted right after birth, I can tell you that this is not such a bad idea in general. Many kids like myself struggled with "Primal Wound" (a sort of behavior/psychological condition develped due to the trauma of separation from biological mother. You should look it up, fascinating subject). A theory even suggests that MOST of adoptees will go through the trauma of "Primal wound" unless its treated with awareness and urgency in time of adoption. So, it can be just me overthinking this, but Liz (an adoptee herself) asking for an open adoption could very well be one of the only true considerate things she did up till now. P.S- Your cat is the cutest thing.
