In order to show Elijah her plan is what's best for him, Esther forces him to relive a time long ago when he loved a young woman named Tatia, Amara's doppelganger.

With the help of Marcel and Gia, Hayley is determined to find Elijah, who has gone missing but she is torn when she discovers Klaus is also in trouble.

Cami finds herself in a dangerous situation when Mikael takes her hostage to lure Klaus to him.

Davina discovers who Kaleb really is.

Lastly, a violent confrontation ensues when Klaus comes face-to-face with his father.

HOLY SHIT. THIS EPISODE WAS AMAZING.

That's kind of what I I love about Elijah's character. I'm always thinking that Klaus is the bad guy (when he's proven multiple times, that we can trust him). But in reality, Elijah is the dangerous one. It's part of why this show is so good. These characters are seriously, amazingly complex. And, for whatever reason, I'm in love with watching Elijah just be his scary self. I don't remember that from TVD, but I do remember Klaus talking to him about it last season. Fuck. This show is gonna seriously mess with head. And I'm so here for it!

Elijah’s whole “Red Door” thing has been hinted at throughout the TVD/TO verse, and honestly, it says a lot about who he really is. You may not remember, but Esther called him out back in TVD 3x15: “Even you, Elijah, with your claim of nobility, you’re no better.” And Klaus in TO 1x16: “You look at me and you see everything you abhor in yourself. Sure, you dress it up with your fancy suits and your handkerchiefs, but the truth is, you're every bit the abomination I am or worse." People think Eliah is this noble, honorable guy, but he’s really not. He’s just as dark and ruthless as the rest of them. One can argue he's even worse.
