Hello, hello. Happy Saturday (at least where I am, but just barely). I managed to get everything out mostly on time this week. It was a struggle, but we did it! Huzzah!
This week we finished S3 of Virgin River (which I'm so pissed off about) and started S6 and S2 of TVD and The Originals, respectively. I enjoyed The Originals a zillion times more than TVD and TVD wasn't even bad. The Originals is just that good.
It's been a book filled week. I finished The Final Girls (which I mostly felt indifferent about) and the second book in the Fourth Wing series (which I really liked). It's so odd. These books are so not things I would gravitate towards, but here we are. Maybe I like them because I don't really like fantasy, and they are hardcore fantasy lite? π€·ββοΈ Angrily, the next book has an 18 week wait at the library. Grrrr.
Other than that, I've been busy making doctor's appointments (I'm determined to be as healthy as I can be by end of the year). I made an appointment with my OBGYN for two things. They called back telling me I could only do one at a time. This is highly annoying as we only have one car and the office is almost an hour away. Oh, that they don't have appointments on weekends. Fun.
Can any of you recommend some fluffy TV? I don't really know what I'm looking for but after finishing this book where everyone dies, I was looking for something the opposite of that. I tried to watch Love is Blind, but it's so not my jam. I really need something that will soothe my brain without putting in any effort. I'm willing to attempt all the things. Yes, I could (and have) fallen back on Gilmore Girls, Buffy, Wildfire, and the like. But I'm looking for something new.
August is over. There's a show we're seeing in September. I feel like I've been waiting for it forever and now it's practically here! If you guys haven't seen Save Ferris live, you are 100% missing out. I think we've seen them 3 times now and the wait until September 12th is annoying. If you just wanna dance for 2 hours, this is the show for you.
Speaking of fall coming, it's the season of tattoos. I'm so sad. I know what I want, but I cannot justify the expense right now. I'm so sad. Ugh. Why can't tattoos magically be free? I'd be so grateful and tip really well! (Not that I don't tip well now, but without having to pay, the tip would be that much better).
Totally off topic, I'm trying to trash my entire apartment. Dan and I made a pact that we will not stay here for another year. We just signed the lease for this year, but we are done after that. So, I'm busy trying to ditch everything I hate/have no use for/has been in a closet for 6 years and we forgot about. I'm also trying to pour money into a savings account, but surprise!, that's not working. It'll work itself out, right? Right?
I've been future thinking. After True Blood, we are 100% not replacing that. And Novel tier will go down from $10/month to $8/month. I'm torn about what to do about The Fosters when it ends. My SIL told me there was a spin off which I just looked up and it's 5 seasons. I'm unsure if I want to commit to that many more episodes right now. What to you guys think?
Should we watch it and everything stays the same? Or do we skip it and Book Stack goes down from $15/month to $12/month? I'll set up a poll later, so just think about it now.
We're also getting to the point where we need to start thinking about replacing Prison Break. This is a Partreon exclusive and is only available to Book Stack members and above. I've got some ideas abut what I'd like, but start thinking about what you want. A more formal poll will go up later, but I will include your suggestions.
Oh, just a heads up, Dan's home on Monday for Labor Day, so I'll be back in front of the desk and trying not to speak at full volume,
And I think that's it. Enjoy the rest of your weekends, loves!
Nick
