What do you think it says about me (and the characters) that when someone dies my first thought isn't 'oh no, poor Lily,' but, 'oh shit, Hope is gonna be pissed.'

We start off with Mel in LA helping out Joey. Eventually, she tells Joey about the break up and claims it was because she scared Jack off by talking about kids. That's not it, love. But, Joey reminds her that she's got embryos left over from when she and Mark were trying and maybe she should use them. I cannot decide if this is sweet, or weird. Based on where they were when Mark died, I'm going with weird. I feel like if they had been happy and in love, it would be different. But they weren't. They were discussing splitting up. That said, we do see Mel go to the doctor, but for all we know, she could be planning to destroy the embryos.

Back in VR, Jack is getting told by everyone he comes into contact with that he was a fool for breaking up with Mel. He tries to explain why to everyone, but they all tell him the same thing. He's going to regret it forever if he leaves her. It's a conversation with Doc, that finally seems to get that to sink in.

So, when Mel gets home, Jack is waiting for her at the cabin. She's super cold to him and basically just breezes past him. He begs her to listen to him and finally she agrees. He tells her he was wrong. He loves her. He never should have went about making decisions for her. Etc. At first, she's pretty rigid about this and tells him none of the reasons he broke up with her are going to change. But, he persists. He literally begs. And she eventually seems to give in. They end up making out on the counter. But, I'm going to be so fucking pissed if she wakes up tomorrow and decides this was a mistake. And I feel like that could be a 50/50 shot. But I don't want it to be! Just give me a happy Mel and Jack. I don't ask for much, show.

Elsewhere, Mike has asked Jack if he can ask out Brie (which I think would be such an upgrade from Brady). I can't remember, but it doesn't really seem like Jack gave a yes or a no really. He mostly asked questions. But, Brie, as far as I can tell, seemed to break up with Brady (if they were every really together). She confronts him after the blow up with Jack and he claims he was at the bar, they argued, but he left before the shooting. He tries to explain away the rest of the bullshit that he's done, but it doesn't seem like she's buying. She tells him he's good at making excuses and heads out.

Afterwards, Brady shows up at the bar drunk, and finds Mike. He starts in on him telling him he's not a hero and if people know what he did in Iraq they wouldn't like him (What did he do? Tell me!) and that he's got blood on his hands. At first Mike seems agitated, but then it's like her realizes it's Brady and doesn't really care what he thinks. Until they get into a brawl. Jack pops out, breaks it up and throws Brady out.

And then we've got Lily. Muriel 'accidentally' clues Hope in on the fact that something is going on with Lily. Which causes her to call Doc, who won't tell her anything. Then she calls Lily who won't even answer the phone, as she really wants to tell Hope in person. But, either way, Lily is having a great day. She's in wonderful spirits, surrounded by friends, and gets to chat and take a horseback ride with Tara. However, when Tara goes to wake her for dinner, she won't wake up. Doc comes in and confirms, she dead (And my first thought was about Hope being pissed. I should be ashamed).

I did make a comment about how people sometimes seem much better right before they die. I don't know where I got that from, but it could be true, right? Also, I'm starting to think again that maybe Mel and Jack could buy this land. I think it would be a great place for them. Even if she doesn't end up with Chloe (which I still sort of think she will), Tara and Chloe could move into the cabin. It would really be best for everyone, right?

Oh and Charmaine and Todd continue to be assholes. These two deserve each other. I don't even wanna talk about them. But, suffice it to say, Todd is still trying to cut Jack out of the lives of his kids. Jack's kids. Not Todd's. Fuck that asshole. But, you know, fuck Charmaine too.

Comments

I LOVE your hatred for Charmaine. She's so pathetic. I hate her.
