Virgin River 3X7: Split

So we all rush to Lily's, but it turns out, it's Tara who is in distress. She's got epilepsy that's been properly managed for years, but the stress of what's going on with Lily has caused her to have a seizure (which, of course, Lily tries to blame on herself). But she's stable and mostly okay. Mel and Lily have a conversation on the porch about what's going to happen to the ranch when she dies. It's too expensive for Tara to keep. At this point I thought maybe Mel and Jack would buy it from her, but now I'm not so sure (even though I feel pretty confident they will get back together, it's just a matter of how long are they going to make me wait).
Jack is basically having the worst day ever. First he finds out the permits for his house could take up to a year to get and even then, he might not get them. Then, he meets with an attorney about custody of the kids and she basically tells him it's gonna bleed him dry, take forever, and destroy his life. After that, he runs into Brady and Brie kissing behind the bar (I told her not to do it right there) and finds out that Brady was actually in the bar when he got shot that night. However, Brady swears he didn't actually shoot him. But do you know who did? And why aren't you talking?
After this nightmare of a day, Jack finally makes it back to Mel's (without the dinner he'd promised to bring) and she informs him that she's booked them tickets to Maui for over Christmas. He's sort of stunned, but she can tell something else is going on. So he lays out all the issues of the day and she's kind about it and asks how she can help. But Jack's response is to tell her that he can't have a baby with her. Fair.
But then, Mel claims they can try in a few years when things settle down in his life. However, he doesn't feel comfortable agreeing to that either. And then tells her that he doesn't know if he can give her what she wants most in the world, so it's best he leaves her, so she can find someone who can. Mel tries to argue that she gets to decide if she still want to be with him if they don't have a baby (you know, how she's been telling him since day one that she can make her own decisions- and he's been pretty good about that). But Jack refuses to take this from her and tells her he's sorry and they've got to break up. So, she throws him out.
She's headed to meet up with her sister tomorrow, so hopefully with some time away, they'll both get a better look at things and come to their senses.
Elsewhere, Lizzie and Connie have made up and Lizzie is moving back in with her. And speaking of Lizzie, what the hell was going on with her and Ricky at the bar? Is Ricky trying to set her up with someone else so he won't feel guilty when he leaves to join the Marines (apparently that guy was a Marine, not an army guy like I thought last episode)? I'm so confused about the two of them right now.
And Doc finally tells Mel the truth about his eyes. And they have a nice conversation about it before he makes her promise not to tell anyone. On a total side note though, should the only two healthcare professionals in town be drinking together at the same time?
