Babylon 5 3x10 Reaction

Comments

Amazing Ep! Yeah- they were saving the planet for an emergency- but i bet he had arranged with Draahl already to get help if needed- and im assuming we would have seen him call for it any second toward the end if the mimbari hadnt shown up - he'd have had no choice- they werent gonna just surrender when they still had that option.

Elevown

Jeffrey Sinclair, John Sheridan and lastly Joseph Straczynski

It will be interesting to see if an how your list evolves by the end of the series. In terms of sci fi episodes you enjoyed most - Where is Severed Dreams on that list?

Dave Sampson

Without really sitting down and going over receipts I want to say third. Sisko>Sinclair>Sheridan. I just realized all "S" names. You can also thank the shit show that was "Picard" for making my top 3 majority B5 not ST.

Mega Reacts

just curious - where is Sheridan now in all your Sci Fi rankings of Captains?

Dave Sampson

The script apparently read: “The Narns, being Narns, run on ahead.”

Texas Anla'Shok

And this came out not long after the Yugoslavian crisis. Mira Furlan is channeling real-world anger there.

Texas Anla'Shok

Delenn is such a nice Minbari. I wouldn't like to be her enemy. 😬 Love this episode and your passionate reaction! Thank you.

Delenn's "Why not?" speech is probably one of my favourite things ever. Those Earth Alliance ships came in through the gate but once Delenn said 'try me' they issued a brown alert into their collective underwear and jumped directly to hyperspace from where they were 😂

Keenan Ventling

That cool zoom in on Sheridan at the moment of decision is called the Hitchcock effect. It's a combo of a push in and zoom out, or the other direction. Pretty sure the Churchill is named after Winston.

Dave Sampson

And here it is, one of the best episodes in the show - top 3, imo. As others have mentioned, a literal award winning episode, and game changing moment in the show.

Mara

I was going to comment on that, but wasn't sure if Mega meant "they sent them first" as in the characters, or "they" as in the writer/director/folks creating the show?

Snatcher42

Quick note: they didn't throw the Narn into the battle first, the Narn chose to lead -- when Garibaldi was setting up a defensive position the Narn ran through and kept going. And strangely, there is a specific scene that seemed to be missing in that battle - a series of Narn threading a gap and just going down one after the other (a representation of the sacrifice they are now willing to make).

Rick Lamoreaux

What kind of Grey Council is this - just every government on Earth - look at the Ukraine situation.

Maarika

We have reached the point where I stopped thinking of B5 as one of my favorite sci-fi shows and started thinking it as one of my favorite tv shows of all time. Delenn's entrance into the fight is one of my favorite scenes in the show. And I love the conversation between Sheridan and his father.
