The Originals 1X14: Long Way Back From Hell

Okay, so I think this is probably my favorite episode so far. And that's saying a lot, because this show is so good.

So we've got both Rebekah and Klaus at the mercy of Genevieve. Rebekah has been stabbed (and maybe drugged), she's hallucinating. It's a bad time. Klaus, meanwhile, is strapped to a table with the Papa Tunde knife still inside of him. Neither of them are in good shape.

Genevieve tells Klaus that she's pissed at Rebekah and he's going to be to when he knows what she did. So, she's going to let him 'kill' her as revenge. She does some kind of mind meld thing where she allows Klaus to see Rebekah's memories. Once Rebekah finds out what's going on she begs Genevieve not to do this, as Klaus will kill her. (I feel really stupid. I should, 100% have realized what she and Marcel before now 😳).

We flash back to 1919 and see Rebekah working as a nurse during the influenza pandemic. I was a little surprised at first, but she explained and I just went with it. She runs into another nurse who she soon discovers is a witch. They work side by side and Rebekah tries to become friendly with her; and does. There is another nurse that Rebekah invites into their group so she won't be left out. However, this was all a ruse. (At least at first. She ended up really liking this girl and felt bad about using her). She was trying to cozy up to the witch so she could get her to find their father and bring him to New Orleans. Marcel and she decided that that was the only way to get rid of Klaus. Which meant, the only way they could be together.

When Klaus first hears this, he doesn't believe it. But, Genevieve reminds him that 1919 was when his father showed up. We see Genevieve doing the spell for Rebekah and Marcel. However, almost as soon as it's finished, Rebekah changes her mind. She rushes to Genevieve and begs her to reverse the spell. She realizes that Klaus will kill them all once he finds out what they've done. But it's too late. Just then, other nurse (Celeste in disguise) walks in and Rebekah feels like she has no choice but to kill both of them to keep the secret. And she does.

Now that Klaus has gotten the whole story, Genevieve lets him drink some of her blood so he can restore his strength. She unties him, gives him the knife and sets him after Rebekah.

Thankfully, around this time, Elijah, Marcel, and Hayley have figured out where they are. (Elijah got a whole bunch of names tattooed on him as a witch riddle. But they figured it all out. Somehow). Anyway, they head over to the sanitarium and just as Klaus is about to stab Rebekah, Marcel stops him. But he's no match for Klaus and is easily battered away. However, Elijah then shows up and sticks the knife into Klaus himself. While he's writhing in agony, Elijah tells the two to run, while he takes care of Klaus. This is going to be such a mess. Just like Celeste (I think it was her, could have been Genevieve though) predicted, it's gonna be brother against brother. Elijah wants to save Rebekah and Marcel, and Klaus wants to kill them. This is gonna be an awesome next few episodes, isn't it?

While this is happening, Celeste tries to escape, but Hayley is waiting outside and bashing her in the head with a shovel. Fun. (We found that out she can probably reverse the curse on her family, so she wants to keeps her around).
