Virgin River 2X1: New Beginnings

Okay, so, I've had a really ridiculous filming schedule lately as we just decided this week we're going to see our friends in SC for 4th of July. That said, I've watched a lot of stuff out of order from as I typically would and I'm a couple episodes ahead. So, I'm going to try to keep this brief-ish, so I don't get it mixed up with other episodes.

We start this season with Mel home in LA. But it's not long after she heads back to Virgin River. While she's heading back (or somewhere near there), Hope flags down Jack on the road and tells him he's got to tell Mel about the baby. He tells her he's heading over there now. And he does. But, he doesn't actually tell her. He claims a delivery emergency and begs off. However, he agrees to have dinner with her that night.

She goes to work and is pretty much immediately accosted by Hope who tells her everything will be find with baby and they'll work it out. Mel has no idea what's going on (since Jack didn't tell her), so Hope has to be the bearer of bad tidings. She tells her about Charmaine and Mel excuses herself to take care of a patient.

Once Hope knows that Mel had no idea, she runs around trying to find Jack to inform him so he's not caught off guard. And she does manage it, but it's only about a minute before Mel shows up demanding to talk to him.

When they speak, she basically tells him she can't do this. he humiliated her and she wants to part of this relationship. She suggests they go back to the status quo (i.e. when she arrived). He claims they can't do that (hard agree, I want these two together) and she's unhappy.

The Paige/Christoper stuff from the end of last season was a red herring. Both he and Paige are fine. Nothing to see here. But Paige does confide in her past to Preacher and he suggests she and Christopher come live with him. While initially resistant, she eventually agrees. However, when he drops her off at her house, her fucking ex is there hanging out with Christopher.

That's probably as much as I'm comfortable saying without wandering into the next episode and mixing stuff up. 😳
