So George was kind enough to let Lemon know that he'll be going on a date later since he doesn't want her to find out through the gossip mill. She's very kind and cordial when they speak, but as soon as he leaves, she runs to AnnaBeth and tells her she's got to win the relationship, so they are going out tonight to find her a new husband.

Zoe, meanwhile, wakes up to a shirtless Wade painting her painting her bedroom. He's 100% trying to entice her into having sex with him again. But, she just tosses pillows at him and heads inside to complain to Lavon about it. However, she then remembers she's got a journalist coming the next day to follow her around and write a piece on her.

Apparently, in her alumni magazine someone claimed she retired to BlueBell, so to set the record straight, she wrote back about how she was a beloved small town doctor who was saving lives. Of course, once the journalist shows up, it's obvious all she's treating is rashes and the common cold, so the journalist leaves.

She's incredibly dejected. But gets it into her head that Tom has leprosy, so she searches for a cause while to begs the interviewer to stay. Apparently, he's been in contact with Wade's dad, who is in contact with an armadillo (and they are big carriers of the disease 🤷‍♀️). After she and Wade manage to catch the armadillo, Tom's bloodwork finally comes back and of course, he doesn't have leprosy. But he has been taking way to many St John's Wart pills to calm his anxiety about having sex with Wanda.

George is having a nice time on his date until Brick wanders over and spills the tea on his relationship to Lemon to the girl. The two of them start screaming at each other in the restaurant and are asked to leave. Outside, Lavon helps them straighten out the mess, and he finally realizes why he'd be a good mayor. (He and that bitch Ruby had a conversation about it earlier).

Lemon date is going well too. She beats out said Ruby for the guy at the bar, but when she finally lands him and they kiss, she realizes she's not ready and heads home. Well, she heads over to AnnaBeth's houseboat (I want to live on this freaking houseboat please) and they debrief. They decide that Lemon is gonna live on the houseboat and she's gonna figure out what to do for a job.

She figures it out pretty quickly. Taking down Ruby is on her agenda, so she heads over to Lavon and tells him she wants to be his campaign manager. I think this is actually a really good fit for her. And I'm annoyed that the show is starting to make me a little sympathetic towards Lemon. This should not be happening. Ahhh!

And we end with Zoe taking Wade's advice to do what will actually make her happy and not what she thinks should make her happy. She shows up at his house with a video and plans to play it with him and (I assume) have sex afterward.
