The Fosters 3X19: The Show (Featuring Lauren)

So, we had Lauren here for this one. And neither of us loved this episode. You guys know I don't love when we get big chunks of singing in a show that isn't based around that. Also, we get very angry and are adamant that no matter how broken the system is, they wouldn't send Jack back to that house. (Spoiler alert: they did).

Okay, so it's the day of the show and it's interspersed with things that have been happening over the last few days (and in Stef's case, what is happening right now). But mostly we just get to see show. And much as we didn't love it, the production value and the acting were really good. I was sure that someone was actually got stabbed accidentally on stage.

Brandon and Courtney have apparently been fighting because he hasn't taken as much of a role in her kid's life as she wants him to. Girl. You've been 'dating' for, like, two weeks. Relax. But apparently, he told someone at the beach that he wasn't the father of her kid and she took offense. Brandon, you do not need to be doing this. Seriously.

Also, it seems obvious that Mat and Mariana are going to get back together, right? As much as Nick has been growing on me, it does sort of seem like she's with him because she can't have Mat. Plus, the two of them as Romeo and Juliet just looked so good together. However, he's upset with her for not responding to some note he left her, but she claims she never got a note. I think we can assume that Nick took it, right?

Stef is missing the play as she's on a domestic violence call at the same house that she found Callie and Jude in however long ago. She knows that he guy has a gun in the house (from the previous arrest- be also he's pacing around with it and she can see him). They assume he's got his wife in there, but she just pulled up in the driveway, so we have no idea what's going on. Stef decides to barge in and she and guy exchange shots. He misses. She doesn't. Once she's got him handcuffed, she starts to look around and steps on a pair of glasses that looked remarkable like Jack's. (You can see where this is going). These motherfuckers gave this asshole another kid after he pulled a gun on Callie and Jude. What the absolute fuck. (This is also where Lauren and I find this highly unbelievable. There is zero chance that guy would ever get another kid, right? The system is broken, but not that broken, right?

Comments

I mean i do see where you guys are coming from with musicals or long extended songs within shows but i personally love musical and song numbers within shows especially this one. I mean it does help that i know the story of Romeo and Juliet from watching the movie and the play and learning about it in school becuase if it was a muscial or play that i have never heard or read about it would be a different story. Also yes to Matt and Marianna getting back togther I loved them togther and yes she did mess up but I think enough time has passed and enough wounds have healed between them for them to be able to get back togther without their being animosity or awkwardness about it. And as for Jack even though he wasn't my favourite character it was sad to see him go out like that.
