Schedule June 23-27

Hello, hello. Happy Saturday.

This week we end S3 of The Fosters and start S4. Side note: Lauren and I watched the S3 finale already, but I had no idea it was the finale when we watched it. The ending makes sense knowing that, though. Lol. I think everything else is staying the same this week.

So, Lauren. The two of us watched The Fosters 3X19 and 3X20 yesterday. She claims she's seen most (or all) of the show, but remembered almost nothing. See how similar we are? 🤣 The discussions at the end are insane. We do discuss the show, but we also segue into various other topics. So, no offense will be taken if you end up skipping parts of that.

We also watched Fire Island. And OMG it was a shit show. The captions weren't synced up so we didn't use them. You guys know I talk over everything (and it's even worse when there are two of us talking). There were so many characters and we couldn't keep everyone straight. We spent most of the movie trying to figure out who everyone is. I mean, I was highly entertained, but if this is your favorite movie, I'm afraid you might be disappointed.

What else. I've finished the mammoth 700 page book (The Survivor Wants To Die At the End) and was so sad. But then I discovered there is a fourth book in this series coming out next year. And then I was ELATED! I'm really hoping it sticks to the theme of more books, more pages. I'd kill for the last book in the series to be 1000 pages. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

I'm also exactly 50% of the way through my current book. And it's another one that I don't know how I feel about it. Have any of you guys read Strange Sally Diamond? I don't want any spoilers but so far it's seem like it wants to be a character driven book (which I love) but have a complex plot. I'm not sure they're pulling off both. But it's enjoyable.

And speaking of books, I've had Better Than the Movies on hold at the library since February and I just got it yesterday! Huzzah! So that will be my next book. Also, just an aside, I've had Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow on hold since August of 2023 (yes 2023) and it still claims it's several months away from being available. I don't even want to read it anymore. I just want to see how long it takes me to get it.

We, along with Lauren, got Dan's dad a grill for Father's Day, so Dan is on his way over there now to set it up for him. I've got the rest of the day to myself. And I'm mostly caught up (believe it or not- but also, mostly is the key word here), so I'm planning to have a martini, finish this book, and maybe indulge in a horror movie once it's dark.

Also, Fire Island will be posted later today. Please, keep in mind that while the two of us are clueless as to what is going on here, we are not like this when we watch The Fosters. We are engaged and paying attention to the plot. Not so much with Fire Island. We are mostly trying to figure out what's going on. Lol.
