Ooh, this finale was good. Not that I really expected it not to be. But still.
So, we've tracked down Whistler and forced Gretchen into to the exchange in a public place. She mocks us as we're wanted criminals and we'll be easily spotted. Michael is undeterred. They arrange to meet at a market (or wherever) and Gretchen's got a sniper set up. But, as soon as Michael sees that LJ and Sofia are fine, he leaves and tells her to expect a call in 5 minutes.
They go to a museum and call her back. She's not pleased when they get there and realize there are metal detectors keeping her gun outside. But, she abides, leaving her cronies to hang out at all the exit doors with directions to shoot Michael and Co when they leave.
In the museum, Michael makes the swap. However, once Sofia is back with Whistler, she's immediately suspicious of how things are going. He tries to reassure her (but really says nothing) and she ends up staying with the brothers. At this point, Gretchen questions why Michael isn't leaving. He tells her he knows there are people with guns waiting to kill them outside and bashes open a case causing an evacuation alarm.
When they get outside, the guard looks at Michael like he might know him, but then a commotion by Whistler (Michael dumped some trash in his pocket) draws attention and Michael gets away. But, Gretchen has called on her guys and they start firing. Sofia is hit, and Lincoln rushes to her. Eventually, LJ makes him leave promising to take care of her.
At the hospital, Sofia tells LJ to tell the brothers that Whistler is hiding something in his apartment. Lincoln claims he doesn't care, but Michael does. His sole focus right now is on killing Gretchen. They head over to the apartment and find a file on some dude that neither of them know. Lincoln wants to just be happy with his kid, so Micheal heads off alone to fine this guy (and potentially, I assume, kill Gretchen).
Meanwhile, back at the prison, Pocket Boy pretends to want to save Lechero. He pretends they can bribe some guards into escaping so Lechero comes up with some money. When the nun brings it though, T Bag kills Lerchero and uses the money to distribute to all the inmates claiming all cons are equal. Fuck no. There is the world's greatest distinction between people who are in jail for drugs and people who are there for having sex with children. Fuck you T Bag. Seriously. I cannot stress this enough.
Also, they torture poor Sucre to figure out when Michael is up to. Even in the face of certain (buried alive) death, Sucre keeps his mouth shut. He finally tells them to kill him but they refuse. They decide that Sona is a better punishment for him than death would be. Can I assume that S4 will be Michael (and Lincoln?) trying to break Sucre out of Sona?
Oh, and Luis ended up home. Surrounded by family that loves him. That was the best story. I cannot decide if I want it to end there with happiness, or if I'm demanding to know how he ended up in Sona in the first place.
