The Originals 1X2: Here Comes the Son

Oh, I'm so excited for this show. I loved this episode. And the Marcel flashbacks with Klaus. Come on.

Okay, so Rebekah, who cannot get in touch with Elijah (you know, because Klaus daggered him) gets concerned and drives down to New Orleans to check up on him. She bursts into the house in a rage and is met with Hayley who is confused. But, they pretty quickly figure out who the other is. Rebekah then starts screaming for Klaus.

He pops out and she's all, 'What did you do to our brother?' He snarks at her for a bit and then heads out. Rebekah then enlists Hayley to help look for Elijah, who she assumes is daggered somewhere in the house. During the survey, she explains to Hayley about Klaus' history with daggering and holding the rest of his siblings hostage. They eventually find the caskets in a hidden room, but Elijah's is not there.

Meanwhile, Hayley decides that getting rid of this hybrid baby is for the best. She goes to some voodoo shop for herbs, but the worker rats her out. She calls someone and tells them to let Marcel know there are wolves here. Shortly after, Hayley is on a bed getting ready to drink her herb concoction when she attacked by several vampires. Thankfully, Rebekah shows up and they manage to kill them and fend them off.

They head back to the house where Klaus shows up all pissed off that they've ruined his plan. And when Rebekah confronts him about not having a plan, he lays it out for her. Of course he's been several steps ahead the whole time. But, when he hears Hayley was planning to terminate the pregnancy he went a little crazy. And for whatever reason, that got him out of his head, and he admits he gave Elijah to Marcel.

Rebekah, tired of playing bullshit games, crashes Marcel's date and demands to know where Elijah is. Funny thing, turns out back in the day, she and Marcel were in love. But Klaus forbid it. (Oh, and also Klaus basically adopted Marcel when he was young, acting like a father figure to him. Marcel always begged for Klaus to change him, but Klaus kept saying it wasn't time). One day, he catches them kissing and he daggers Rebekah.

When he finally wakes her up, she's pissed as she thinks it's been a week, but it's really been 52 (?) years. He gave Marcel the option of being with Rebekah for the rest of his mortal life or being turned. And he didn't choose her. Sad. Poor Rebekah. I've never really liked her that much, but I'm really starting to sympathize with her.

Anyway, she threatens to kill him if he doesn't tell her where Elijah is, but he knows she won't. He's right. But she has no problem killing his date. He relents and takes her to his place where Elijah is. But, when she gets there, that tiny ass witch wouldn't let her remove the dagger from Elijah and then tossed her around like she was a rag doll. This is not great.

She gets back to Klaus (also, am I gonna have to start referring to him as Niklaus now?) and tells him about how their brother is now with the most powerful witch she's ever encountered. She's pissed at him. And rightfully so, but it seems like he's actually keen on getting Elijah back and taking back over. I'm here for it.

I mean, don't tell me, but I really thought this was gonna be Klaus (Niklaus?), Elijah, and Rebekah. But, are we gonna spend this whole season trying to get Elijah back? Meaning, he's not actually in the main cast? Interesting.
