The Americans 2X1: Comrades

Okay, so I'm annoyed that I don't remember as much as I wanted to. Mostly because this episode is really good, and it would have been even better if I wasn't connecting incredibly vague dots. Lol.

Elizabeth is back home after recuperating from her gunshot last episode. It also happens to be Henry's birthday weekend, so the kids are a little upset when they go out on a 'date' instead of staying home with them. However, the date is really just a cover for them to go scare the hell out of an employee for the DOD. They get his info and passwords, and tell him to stop hanging out with women (namely their KGB wives) who might try to extract information from him.

The all agree to meet with their kids at a carnival the next day. However, when they get to the carnival, they don't ever do more than look at each other really. It's odd. But, either way, the other couple was supposed to do a handoff type thing, but he's afraid his cover was blown and asks Philip to handle it for him. He reluctantly agrees since it involves using Henry as cover, but he eventually agrees as he's on a time crunch.

Afterwards, Elizabeth and Philip go the other KGB agent's hotel room to drop off the package and find them and their daughter dead. Elizabeth immediately goes back to the carnival to check on their children, and Philip gets some codes (?) and other stuff from their safe, wipes his prints off and heads to meet his family.

Once back at the house, Elizabeth is frantically checking that things are locked, as Philip gets ready to head over to Martha's (since, you know, he's also married to her).

Stan, meanwhile, is obsessed with the KGB agents (Elizabeth and Philip) that they let get away last season. His boss keeps telling him to let it go. Their source told them one was dead and the other went back to Russia, but he can't shake it.

Over at the KGB, they've got a new officer that is going to be in charge of spying on science (or something similar). They are wary of him as he's young and undisciplined. He basically only got the job because he knew someone. I'm assuming he's going to be an issue for them going forward. And it's gonna be a lot of 'oh, he's gonna screw them over.' 'oh look, he got out of it.' Lol.

I quite enjoyed this. I'm really looking forward to get further along where I don't spend all my time going, 'Wait, what's happening?'
