Hello, my dears. Is your brain a puddle of 3-day old microwaved mashed potatoes at this hour on a Friday? MINE IS. Especially since I only have a few days left in this month-long research trip and still. so. much. to. do.
Fortunately, the Caitlin from a week ago who made this patron-only offering did NOT have a brain of mildewed carpet from under a leaking air conditioner. She seems chipper and coherent and I'm happy to send her out as my representative. Gosh... she's got it all together.
Is this giving dark academia? Is the day too sunny? Should I have Landis photoshop in some rolling maritime fog?
I'm getting so much done, it's been a fruitful month in many ways. But even though I've written three books prior to this one, this level of non-fiction historical research feels simultaneously perfect for me and above my pay grade!
I'll let the video speak for itself, I hope you enjoy the fun end-of-week distraction.
Speaking of enjoying, your friend and mine, my partner in video crime, who LEFT US and then came right back lol can't escape--LOUISE HUNG--finally has her book available for pre-order. It's a YA-novel about a hungry ghost. It's spooky but also full of Chinese American history, death, ritual. I would give my review but she's only letting me read it for the first time (rude) when I get back from this trip. I already know it's good- it's Louise!
Preorder from Bookshop:

Pub date is Oct 1, in time for spooky season!
See you soon xx
Caitlin
(My brain is so mush I really gave that sign off some serious thought before going with "see you soon." COME ON.)
