My thoughts on characters change minute to minute and episode to episode. Damon is still one of my favorite characters but he does tend to act out anytime he gets overwhelmed by emotions. I am sure as the show goes on I will truly understand the depth of his emotional immaturity and the cause.

First of all this is a vampire show and it is established that vampires has heighten sensitivity to emotions. Second of all you don't know yet his full personal story and there are serious reasons why Damon react to hurting so strongly. But as an adult that went through a lot as you mentioned graicefully, sharing your life details with us, for which I thank you, should undestand how a man that react as he had enough it is because life circumstances broke him and broke him badly. This show is a fantasy one, but psychologically is on point with reality even if is making more obvious the effect that psycological damage can do to a person. I am surprise that you, that are usually so perceptive in understanding the characters, specially Damon, this time got it so wrongly. You see I am Damon, as you said you are too, because you and I and so many other people, can emphatise with this character emotional journey, and I appreciate your lack of judgement because people like us, knows better than judge too easely without knowing the circumstances. So to be honest I was surprise to that statement. Damon is a broken man that have been screwed over, used and abused way too many times and I personally think that he isn't the problem, but how people around him treated him are, his brother included. I feel a strong sense of empathy for this character because his story hits home way more than I care to admit. So please keep your mind open, don't judge because you will understand when we get there what I mean.

So revenge sex with Rebekah that is more than happy to scorn Elena and to have hot sex with him, as Bree said apparently "he is good in the sack" and we got a glimpse of it and facts check. π€£
