The Fosters 2X20: Not That Kind of Girl

Okay, so after the cliff hanger last episode, it turns out Jude is fine. It was Connor that got shot. But it was only in the foot. He's gonna need surgery, but he'll be fine. But, when his dad asks why he was out doing something so dumb, he claims he snuck out to see Jude.

Dad then comes over and talks to Lena. Lena tells Jude and Stef that Connor told his dad everything was Jude's idea, and they aren't allowed to see each other anymore. Jude is very confused because, none of this was his idea; he didn't want to do any of it in the first place. But, the next day, Taylor tells Jude she's going to the hospital, Jude asks her to ask Connor why he lied. Instead, she gives Connor her phone and Connor text Jude telling him he never told his dad that. He did, however, tell his dad that he was gay. I assume that his dad blamed Jude for that and decided he should get in trouble. Whatever old man. But, as far as I can tell, Jude and Connor are fine.

Shortly after this, Callie and the moms meet with Callie's social worker trying to figure out how to get her emancipated as quickly as possible. But, we run into a snag. We find out that someone has opened up credit cards in Callie's name and right now, she's on the hook for about 25K. Stef using her policing to track down what's going on. Turns out, Liam and Sara (the one who ended up being his foster sister after Callie, and Callie tried to get her out) are working together to do this. Liam claims it was all Sara, and Sara claims the same. Until Callie comes up with the idea to run Sara's credit too. Turns out, he's also stealing from her. When she found that out, she sang like a bird. And admitted that they were having a sexual relationship which means, he FINALLY gets jail time.

Mariana decides to go visit her grandparents to see if they will adopt Ana's baby. However, her grandfather won't even entertain this, and tells his wife she is just looking for a job. Then, he shoos her away. But, that's no deterrent for Mariana, she shows back up and asks to speak to his wife. He tells her no, but then she comes out and tells Mariana she knows who she is- she looks exactly like Ana did at her age.

They sit down and the grandparents tell Mariana they didn't even know she and Jesus existed before they got adopted. They had cut Ana out of their lives because watching her struggle with addiction was too painful. Mariana tells them that she's pregnant now and sober. Then, she passes them one of the letters that Ana wrote to them that was returned. I'm very concerned that this is going to turn into a custody battle between the Fosters and the grandparents for this baby. We already have enough custody issues!

And while all this is going on, Ana has moved out of Mike's house into a really shitty motel. When Stef finds out (of course without talking to Lena about it), she invites Ana to move in, and it seems like she's taking her up on it. I guess we'll be telling the kids about the baby now.
