New Article: Guided By Death and Flowers

Hello Deathlings!

In case you missed it over the weekend, we have a new article on the Order website.

At The Order we're frequently asked how to get involved in more practical ways in the death positive movement by folks who know they want to help but aren't sure how. In 2018 we created a resource guide providing a bit of guidance, but tldr: the best way you can promote the movement is by taking action in a way that best serves YOUR strengths, passions, and talents. Our newest article, "Guided By Death and Flowers" by Order contributor Anna Gragert, provides a look at someone who is doing just that, by creating community through death care and flowers.

I love when we have the opportunity to share this kind of story. Anita Vuong saw a need, thought of what she could do to serve that need, and acted upon it. I'm not saying what she does is easy, but it's beautifully simple – and uplifting!

This is such an inspiring example of the message that not everyone has to be a funeral director to make a death positive difference. I tell that to people all the time, but a lot of times it's hard for folks to process. But the truth is, not everyone's cut out to be a funeral director – and that's OK! I'd rather you be the world's greatest, say,  Elvis impersonating hospice volunteer than a half-hearted funeral director.

Not to get all LA-lady life (death) coach on you but, follow your death positive-passion, deathlings, and you'll find the path to real service.

I love seeing what you all do!

We have more articles coming out this month, so stay tuned!

From an appropriate social distance,
