Okay, so if I watched reality TV this probably would have been more enjoyable for me. But, it was driving me crazy how bad they were at 'pretending.' It was a constant wink to the camera. I know they are kids, but come on. Lol.
After the kids find out that there isn't enough drama for the TV show, Carlos casts them into reality TV roles. While they do spend a good bit of the episode trying to inject fake drama into the show, we do learn some actual information as well.
Carlos cast Maddox to be in love with Jet, not knowing they were siblings. That bit of information comes out in this episode. Gina tells E.J. that she knows about St. Louis. And Ricky confesses to having feelings for Gina. That last bit was caught on a 'hot mic' (one of Carlos' checklist items) and Ricky seemed fairly upset about it.
E.J. tells Gina that St. Louis is not going to happen and that's why he didn't tell her about it. He's convinced that if the TV show is a hit, his dad won't make him go. And that's why he's working so hard. I feel so badly for him. He was so excited about bringing his friends to camp and he's not getting to enjoy it at all. At the end of the episode, he heads into the office to make a call. At first I thought it was to his dad, but now I'm thinking it's definitely to Jenn, right?
Also, Gina seems upset and concerned about E.J.'s friendship with Val. I don't know if she would still be feeling like this if things weren't so strained with him right now, or if she is genuinely jealous. If it's the latter, I don't think she needs to be. As far as I can tell, neither have romantic feelings for the other. But I said the same thing about Ashlyn and Val, so what the hell do I know?
