The Vampire Diaries 4X16: Bring It On

Okay, so, I'm not sure why but this version of Elena isn't nearly as entertaining to me as when either Damon or Stefan act without humanity.

Okay, so, I'm not sure why but this version of Elena isn't nearly as entertaining to me as when either Damon or Stefan act without humanity. It makes an interesting enough story, but she's just not as fun to watch.

Regardless, Elena is busy running around enjoying having her humanity turned off. However, by turned it off, it's broken the sire bond with Damon, since it's based on her feelings for him. So, he can tell her to do things (like not eat people), but she no longer feels compelled to obey him. This leads to her feeding on a rival cheerleader (yeah, she's a cheerleader again in this episode) in basically broad daylight. She also purposefully drops Caroline during a stunt and just walks away while she's in pain on the ground.

Klaus and Hayley seem to have formed an uneasy truce. He's protecting her from the vampire that Katherine sent after her and she giving him any information she can about Katherine. Eventually, Klaus kills the vampire, so Hayley is safe and free to leave. However, they decide to have sex, and afterwards, Klaus notices a birthmark that he's seen before. I assume this is supposed to mean that he's been at least familiar with her family at some point.

Back at the boarding house, Elena is throwing a rager of a party. She tries to convince Caroline and Stefan to get together (which I'd be fine with) telling them she's not jealous and she's glad they are finally having a little fun. Then, the sheriff shows up and Elena tells her it's just underage drinking and drugs going on. She then attacks her, Caroline tosses her off and in the melee, Elena flees.

In the woods, Elena and Caroline are fighting. Caroline is trying to get Elena to act normally, and Elena is mocking Caroline for whining about Tyler being gone and also having feelings for Klaus. They end up physically fighting and Elena is totally winning thanks to her training with Alaric. Just as she is about to stake Caroline, the brothers show up. Damon drags Elena away, and Stefan takes Caroline.

Stefan seems to realize that Silas is in Mystic Falls and calls Damon to tell him. But, Damon is busy running off to NYC with Elena (not that he tells Stefan that) and basically tells him to deal with it on his own.

Also we find out that Tyler is not planning to come back, and has left the Lockwood house to Matt.
