So as much as E.J. had wished for no drama while Corbin was there, it turned out, drama was all he wanted.
Ricky is very obviously struggling with his feelings for Gina. I think Gina is just being friendly towards him, while Ricky wants more, but I could be wrong about that. Either way, watching them together seems to be making E.J. unsure in their relationship. It doesn't help that he's keeping a secret from her. She's so excited that her mom is coming back to live in Salt Lake and E.J. is doing a gap year next year, so they can spend the whole year together. However, E.J. just found out that his dad is not letting him do a gap year and sending him to a success school (?) in St. Louis. He hasn't told Gina yet because she's so excited about them being together. He has told Val though.
During the read through, Jet is missing. (I have no idea what part he is. I don't know Frozen that well). We find out that he went home. So Ricky offers to sing with Gina, but Corbin puts E.J. with her. Ricky watches from afar and seems a little jealous. Later, Jet ends up coming back and calls out Ricky on his feelings for Gina.
Ashlyn apparently has feelings for Val. I didn't see that at all. If anything, I'd think she had feelings for Maddie. But, I'd be happy if she found a new love interest. I just don't think Red is good enough for her. He's so annoying to me.
By the end of the episode, the documentary crew hasn't turned up any drama on the cast, so they don't believe they can use any of the footage. But E.J., who is sure if he does well in TV, will be allowed by his dad to stay home next year, tells the crew he can give them drama if they want it.
And, surprise, surprise, Gina walks into the bar and finds the letter from E.J.'s dad telling him he's got to go to St. Louis next year. And who's there with her? Val. She asks Val if she knows anything about this. And while Val doesn't say anything, she certainly looks guilty.
