Hello Deathlings!
How are you hanging in there? I feel like I've asked you all this question a thousand times in the last few days, but things can change so quickly! As demonstrated by the fact that in the span of 10 days I've gone from ROAD TRIPPIN' to shelter in place.
This is a video we shot only a few short weeks ago, but it feels like a LIFETIME ago. I have a granola bar in the bottom of my tote bag that's older than this video.
It was the beginning of February when Team Death Video descended upon Peter Stefan's funeral home to talk about the recent controversy that involved Peter, nine unclaimed bodies, and the state of Massachusetts.
Though this sounds like our visit might have been awkward or tense, it was actually ridiculously pleasant – all things considered.
Peter and his staff were gracious hosts who immediately – and I mean the moment we stepped through the front door – took our coffee and donut orders. Within minutes, we were hunkered down with Peter in his office discussing the shoot over fresh donuts and hot coffee.
This isn't to say that Peter buttered us up, it's JUST HOW HE IS. I can confirm this from previous meetings I've had with him. He is simply a caring man.
Which is maybe how he got into the predicament he was in.
Anyway, I hope this gives you food for thought aside from the current thing that rhymes with "blorona myrus".
This is our last video of the month, but we'll have more for you in April as well as more resources and content on the Order website! Stay tuned.
Take care of each other, deathlings.
Waving from at least six feet away,
Caitlin
*A quick, but important clarification: If you clicked on this post from your email, the subject probably read, "Caitlin Doughty's new patron-only video". This is not a patron-only video; this is a video that was released to the public. When we release patron-only videos we will explicitly state in the video info and in the video post that it is a "Patron Exclusive" video. Patreon recently changed the way Patrons-only video posts (i.e. these nifty messages that are delivered to your inbox) are released via email – automatically adding that "patron-only video" line to the subject, even if that's not the case. But that's not how we (and a lot of other creators) do things. So, sorry for the confusion! I hope this cleared things up! We're working on fixing this with Patreon.
